“The big day is drawing near. The Holidays are almost here. Yet there is still time to write. Maybe up until Christmas night. Here’s a little poem wishing you a wonderful time.”
I wrote this Story in answer to the following prompts:
Sadje’s What Do You See – Picture above from Jonathan Borba @ Pixels
Your Daily Word prompt – Hindrance
Ragtag Daily Prompt – Breathless
Fandango’s One-Word Challenge – Product
Pensitivity’s three things Challenge — Position – Cuddly – Whereabouts
A Time for Madness and Merriment
The guy in the red-and-white suit
Is the man to blame
By the bell in his hat and shiny black boot
He started this festive game
Kids breathless with anticipation
Parents chasing wished for products and toys
Shoppers go crazy across the nation
To please all the girls and boys
Yet nobody knows Santa’s position
His whereabouts is a mystery
Although we all know his special mission
It’s all there fact, fantasy, and history
Despite all the madness and hindrance
Turkey trimmings and cuddly bears
Bauble-filled trees and reindeers that dance
It’s worth all the swearing and tears
Golden days with family and friends
Smiles galore as presents amaze
Such happiness and joy as the year ends
Have the happiest of holidays
Thanks for reading my friends.

It’s going to be quiet with restrictions but we’ll make it special anyway. Hope you have some wonderful Holidays too!

Indeed, madness and merriment — a great description of the season, and your well-crafted poem paints the picture of it.
