Leaving Today

“Today’s image took on a sadness within me. So, I decided to let it tell its story in this little poem.”

I wrote this story for the following prompts.
Ragtag Daily Prompt — Chaos
Pensitivity’s Three Things Challenge — Tired – Worn – Playful
Your Daily Word — Inquire
Fandango’s One Word Challenge — Harried
Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge — The picture above from  Erdbeerstern @ DeviantArt.com.

Leaving Today

There she was in the underworld
Tired, worn and harried
From the chaos of life unfurled
Fore the sake of being unmarried

Beneath the bridge, she waits
For a bus to the future
An appointment to inquire the fates
Shame he was a great and playful smoocher

Maybe she’d travel for days
For now, all she could do was roam
Now her life was ablaze
And she sought a happy home

Don’t forget Holly Ward investigates, Stolen Treasures is out on Amazon now!
