The Descent of Angels

“Sadje presented us with a magnificent prompt image today. I rather feel I failed it with a mere poem. Alas here is my offering.”

I wrote this Story in answer to the following prompts:
Sadje’s What Do You See – picture above from Pixabay
Your Daily Word prompt – Indignant
Ragtag Daily Prompt – Sleekit

The Descent of Angels

Life eternally passes by
Until darkness descends
Occluding the majestic sunny sky
Is this when the world ends

Shadows of angelic wings
Or umbral cowled shrouds
A being from heaven sings
Sleekit demons in swirling crowds

This is no time to drop a pray
Stand indignant and fight
Positivity burns darkness away
Summons angels of light

Over the city they guard
Majestic wings burden an eclipse
Blessing all those fallen and scarred
Help the angels stop the apocalypse

Thanks for reading my friends.

There’s more in the Poetry CornerPoetry Nook, and the Short Story Collection

Have a great day!
