True Profit

“I came across this picture with thanks to Bing a while ago. A ship called the Positive Pioneer. I think I finally found a way to use and embody that bright energy.”

I wrote this poem in answer to the following prompts:
Fandango’s One Word Challenge – Profit
Your Daily Word – Quell

True Profit

So, my mind tells me
Success is about the profit
In a world where nothing’s free
That’s falling in negativity’s pit

To quell those demon’s lies
I have to open my eyes
Smile as I realise
Money is not the grand prize

A writer’s real success
Isn’t measured in revenue
It’s their ability to impress
The wonderful readers they accrue

I’ve removed another claw
From my demon’s mighty grip
Soon he will withdraw
Now I sail aboard positivity’s ship

Thanks for reading my friends.

There’s more in the Poetry CornerPoetry Nook, and the Short Story Collection

Have a great day!
