Afterlife Musings

“I often wonder what a ghost does during those endless hours stuck in their corporeal home. I think I’d reminisce over all my failings – I mean that’s all I seem to do now. So, I’d be something like this.”

I wrote this story in answer to the following prompts:
FOWC with Fandango — Cavalier
Pensitivity’s Three Things Challenge — Family – People – Together
Your Daily Word — Coalesce
Ragtag Daily Prompt — Afterlife

Afterlife Musings

I died a couple years ago
Having lived a life of to-and-fro
People didn’t much like me
I was cavalier you see

I’d coalesce myself through life
March through grief and strife
Family couldn’t keep me together
I was to be alone forever

There was one love
I gave myself the shove
Being a useless old spur
I couldn’t let myself hurt her

Now, I’m a ghost in the afterlife
I failed work, love and life
And have a lot to bemoan
Apologies if I knock and groan

Life only took from me
Sure I toiled and was gutsy
I stayed worthless and now bodiless
Make sure you claim success

Thanks for reading my friends.

    1. I like a show called Kindred Spirits. It really seems to show that even the most alleged ‘Angry’ spirits are really not demonic or anything. They’re just upset about what happened when they lived and frustrated because nobody talks to or listens to them now.
      Thanks for reading, Pam.
