The Boogeyman

“One of the most infamous and transitional demons there is. Every country and community seems to have its own tales of devils and beings that although have unique names, can be attributed to the works of the boogeyman. Do you believe he exists?”

I wrote this poem for the following prompt.
Word of the Day Challenge
 — Boogeyman

The Boogeyman

Let’s put the Boogeyman on the level
He’s nothing to do with snot
Boogey is a quasi-proper name for devil
And so nice he is certainly not

Is he the Sack Man stealing kids away
Or El Coco created to make them sleep
Perhaps the babau, knocking on doomsday
Or the Tata Duende goblin on the reap

Whatever its evil form and plan
It waits for darkness to occur
This is the Boogeyman
And it’s coming to get yer!

Thanks for reading my friends.

There’s more in the Poetry CornerPoetry Nook, and the Short Story Collection

  1. Creepy Mason, I’m hiding under the covers tonight. I’m also doing a bit of shameless self promotion. I have Sunday Serial commencing tomorrow. Love it if you came over to see, love it more if you wanted to post a WIP your working on. Thought we could all brainstorm to the finish line
