Nature’s Healing Path

“When anxiety, fear and negativity start clawing at your mind. There’s nothing better than a walk in the woods to help you unwind. A hike through the meadows, or a wander along the beach. Allow nature’s sights, sounds and smells to massage you back to relaxed positivity. Then with a deep breath return and conquer those demons.”

I wrote this poem in answer to the following prompts:

Nature’s Healing Path

Along the wooded footpath I go
Walking eastward or maybe westward-ho
I feel a spider tickle my hair
Naughty pigeons cooing a ribald pair

Listen to the green woodpecker laugh
The spotted woodpecker cutting a tree in half
Mr Squirrel with an acorn he stole
Blackbird giving worm a shake and roll

I forage blackberries from the copse
Watch the buzzard soaring above the treetops
Spot baby deer and mother doe
Can you feel the anxiety let go

Nature’s healing brings relaxing calm
Woodland tranquillity a soothing mental balm
Thwart negativity’s evil wrath
By walking along nature’s positive path
