Old Life, New Day

“We can and must choose not to be miserable in a passage of life that’s full of failure and pain. We must make a strong decision and say. ‘I choose to be happy and tomorrow is the start of a new life and a happy me!”

I wrote this poem in answer to the following prompts:
Authorworld — Picture – A New Day
FOWC with Fandango — Forward
Your Daily Word  — Altruistic

Old Life, New Day

Old life and new life
New happiness and old strife
Old trials and new goals
New friends and lost souls

Old life of failure and duress
New altruistic life of success
Old memories good and mostly bad
New memories and smiles to be had

Old life holding me back
New life on the winders track
Old life anchored in a stormy sea
New life always forward happy and free

Old life a daily disaster
New life says I’m the master
Old life of mental decay
New life begins this happy new day

Thanks for reading my friends.

There’s more in the Poetry CornerPoetry Nook, and the Short Story Collection
