Apocalypse Earth

“The title says it all. Unless we unite as one there is only one ending and its fast approaching.”

I wrote this poem in answer to the following prompts:
Authorworld — Picture – Powerful Together
Ragtag Daily Prompt — Mistress
Your Daily Word  — Portend

Apocalypse Earth

We live in a world
That’s become unfurled
We pillaged it from the start
Now it’s falling apart

We ignored every portend and warning
Now Earth’s in mourning
Wildfire’s ravage and pollution grows
Glaciers melt and species fall like dominoes

We must work together to survive
Only in unity can we thrive
Instead, nations go to war
Fighting until Earth is no more

Earth is no longer our Mistress
She is great distress
We must respect and heal her
She can no longer endure

We must forge love and friendship
To avoid certain apocalypse
Saving Earth must be a worldly endeavour
We are powerful together

Thanks for reading my friends.
