The Life Mine

“Imagine your life like a gold mine. The gold is there but you have to keep digging until you strike the motherlode of success – keep digging, you got this!”

I wrote this story in poem to the following prompts:
FOWC with Fandango  — Sustain
AuthorWorld – Picture above – The Mine
Ragtag Daily Prompt — Marathon

The Life Mine

Living life is rather like mining
It’s laborious, tough and defining
Wonderful when the sun is shining
Yet even when hope is declining
You have to dig for the silver lining

The marathon of life is rife with pain
Mining for happiness through stress and strain
Lodes of hardship driving you insane
You’re strong, the darkness you will contain
Dig deep and claim that precious gold vein

Ride the mine train to the deep and dark
Positivity’s pickaxe is your life’s spark
Be as hungry as the ferocious bull shark
Exploding dynamite your determined bark
Keeping mining and cross that winner’s mark

Thanks for reading my friends.

    1. Hi,
The five lines happened by accident. I did the first four and still had a word I wanted to use and so carried on without realising I had my four. I finished the stanza and just decided to go with it for the rest.
I’m pleased you liked it. Thanks for reading.
