Why I Smiled Today

“We live every day in hope of achieving our goals. Hoping we can survive the days trials and tribulations. We must look at how far we’ve come and smile about the success we had along the way. Those smiles will help us move forward and attain the ultimate goal.”

I wrote this poem in answer to the following prompts:
FOWC with Fandango  — Wing
Pensitivity’s Three Things Challenge — Try – Dry – Pry
Authorworld — Picture – Why I smiled today
Ragtag Daily Prompt — Destiny

Why I Smiled Today

My smile today was bestowed
When I got on the destiny road
My hard work finally showed
As the darkness began to corrode

For years my hands were tide
I would try hard but all hope died
Then I managed to pry the door wide
Which left me smiling with pride

Fate’s grasp began to swing
It’s grip failing like a dry spring
Hope burgeoned as I took to the wing
Knowing I could accomplish anything

Attaining success always takes a while
I battled through every challenge and trial
With help Holly returned from exile
That’s the reason I smile

Thanks for reading my friends.

    1. Hello, Hetty.
It is I finally have Holly’s mysteries with a lady who loves them and is taking care of them. The first came out a couple weeks ago. The next will arrive maybe September.

I’m doing a lot of diction now and that really helps the hands. I still have the odd bad day but they better, thanks for remembering and asking.
      How are you doing?
