Thunderstorm

“There’s nothing more majestic and yet scary than a thunderstorm. It comes out of nowhere unleashing tremendous power and energy. Sometimes wreaking havoc and then its gone living golden light and a calmness where once havoc reigned.”

I wrote this poem for the following prompt.
Ragtag Daily Prompt — Soon

Thunderstorm

Boiling clouds signalling a storm is nigh
Menacing darkness shrouds the sunny sky
The storm ploughs nearer as the clouds begin to cry
A deluge avows as lightning catches the eye

Petrichor blooms whilst the storm rumbles
Crackling doom electrifies as the rain tumbles
Forked plumes split the sky with mighty grumbles
Zeus’ courtroom erupts as lightning humbles

Thunder and lightning allows the fury to release
Skies brightening with a feeling of peace
Once frightening storms soon break as the rains cease
Clouds whitening like a happy sheep’s fleece
