Friend in Need

“There comes a time for all of us when the word ‘friend’ means more than just someone we have fun with. When you must be a real friend. The time when you must lend an ear. Where you must help in anyway you can without wanting anything in return You never know when you’ll need your friend to be there for you. So, when that time comes be the true friend.”

I wrote this poem for the following prompts:

Pensitivity’s Three Things Challenge — Own, Feeling, Down

Friend in Need

When feeling down
You’re not on your own
No need to drown.
I’m by the phone

We’re miles apart
But take my hand
Message’s make a start
Now negativity’s banned

I’m here to help
You’re tired I know
Just scream and yelp
Let your emotions flow

Here’s a healing hug
Your friend is here
With his ugly mug
To lend an ear

I know you’re strong
You helped me survive
To right every wrong
Soon you’ll thrive

Thanks for reading my friends.

  1. What a lovely poem with a heart-warming message, Mason! Though you really must stop with the self-deprecating stuff, the “ugly mug” bit *was funny.😂Good job!!
