Contest of Life

“Every day, every event, every choice we make is a battle. Bad choice – negativity strikes. Good choice – positivity fights back. The worst attacks are inflicted by others around us. Yet if we stay in the fight, we can and will be victorious!”

I wrote this poem for the following prompts:
Ragtag Daily Prompt — Contest
Word of the Day Challenge — Optional

Contest of Life

Life is an eternal contest
Not optional, full of choices
Whether cursed or blessed
Ignore those dark voices

You’ve got the power
Find a way to life good
rise upon your golden tower
Burn doubts as hope’s firewood

Life’s a contest you can win
What’s optional is trying
Not trying is a capital sin
Do battle! Make life gratifying
