Plotting Time

“Just recently several people have said my ability to answer so many prompts so quickly is amazing. Is it really? You know, I don’t think it is. I reckon, by latching on to a tale so fast I likely miss better opportunities. I’m sure I lose stunning details and of course my pace leaves my stories littered with mistakes. The moral : don’t write fast like me, just take your time to develop a story and enjoy the process.”

I wrote this story in answer to the following prompts:
FOWC with Fandango  — Blur
Your Daily Word Prompt — Repose

Plotting Time

Life races by in a blur
I’m sure you all concur
Yet the writer likes to be repose
Especially when writing prose

A story won’t be rushed
Our characters never hushed
I’ll never write in a race
My tales grow at their own pace

So, I sit and daydream
Wish I had some ice-cream
While your life is a blur
I’m plotting and barely stir

No, I’m not a scrimshank
I’m in my think tank
Waiting for my story to bloom
Then I’ll write up a dust plume
