Momentum Killer

“I set my stall out. Had a plan in place. Future Baby was going to grow. Then came the killer blow. I wrote a page and hated it all. I wrote it again and deleted it once more. By the third deletion I’d become the thrall of doubt. And so this morning I find myself staring out of the window with an empty head. This is no writers block that’s a figment of imagination, this is the power of negativity bled from bottling it so badly. Here’s hoping it’s only temporary.”

I wrote this poem in answer to the following prompts:
FOWC with Fandango  — Aspect
Your Daily Word Prompt — Bawl

Momentum Killer

I feel the need to bawl
I’ve come to a complete stall
On Saturday I failed
Now, my inspiration’s bailed

The most difficult aspect
Is the mental effect
When you write a load of lead
Doubt rears its ugly head

I have prompts to write
But no story in sight
No voices in my mind
My creativities in a bind

There may be no story to day
Yet I’ll be okay
I will break free
Of the doldrums holding me
