Stay Ambitious

“Through the hardship of failing and thought of never being good enough, I lost my ambition. I threw away my dreams. Blotted out my future – I had none. At that point you no longer live, you exist as a shell. I don’t have these things back yet. I don’t dare to dream again. You must do all you can to keep ambitious and hold on to your dreams no matter what. Without that you can never be happy or successful. You can do it!”

I wrote this poem in answer to the following prompts:

Your Daily Word Prompt — Ambit

Stay Ambitious

Ambit is the extent
Ambition the intent
Knowledge is the key
Skills will help me

The goal is to grow
To surpass the sideshow
Success is the dream
It’s there lost in the steam

Such is the pattern of life
We must battle through strife
Keep focused on that ambition
Fight until it reaches fruition

One goal at time
I’ll reach my prime
I’m getting there soon
I’m climbing to the moon
