Your Cerebral Room

“Our minds are like a vacuous room decorated with everything with learned, witnessed, experiences and felt. Every day things we see and do add decorations, redesign our room. That room then guides us through the next part of life. That’s why its important to spring clean that room and allow it to be decorated only with things that make us happy and successful.”

I wrote this poem in answer to the following prompts:
Pensitivity’s three things challenge – Furniture – Personal – Blown
Your Daily Word Prompt — Specious
FOWC with Fandango  — Fragrant

Your Cerebral Room

Memories – the furniture in our minds
Experiences form the chairs and blinds
Specious things we’ve done and seen
Dreams and nightmares on the TV screen

Personal mementos, on the hearth
Fragrant rose petals around the bath
A hideous stench from dark times blown
Events through which you’ve grown

The cerebral room in your brain
Furnished by mirth and pain
It contains and holds life’s key
Find it and set yourself free
