What are Insects

“As a one time Arachnophobe I taught myself to respect and enjoy the worlds mini-beasts. I did so through the world of photography. A simple bug looks magnificent through a macro lens. When you realise that the fear begins to melt away.”

I wrote this poem in answer to the following prompts:
Ragtag Daily Prompt — Insect
Your Daily Word Prompt — Trundle

What are Insects

What is an insect?
A creepy-crawly subject
Too many legs and wings
Scary little things

From beetle to mayfly
Grasshopper to dragonfly
Mantis and thrips
Earwigs in your chips

Stingy wasps and bees
Itchy lice and fleas
Hornets and ants
Duct tape your pants!

Mini-beasties may be scary
They trundle and they’re hairy
However, look closely at a few
They can be beautiful too

Thanks for reading my friends.

  1. I love this Mason. Really whimsical & fun. Well penned. 🖋🖊 Bugs are neat, even if at times pestilent; it’s nice to be reminded of both. 🐜🌺🐝🐞🦗🕷🕸
