Fighting Fate

“In my 35 years I’ve seen and suffered many events that prove our lives are mapped out for us. That fate pulls all the strings. It’s not luck or coincidence. Success and failure are in the hands of a higher power. This poem is as much for me as you. a reminder that We are still strong and we can fight. That we might still fail but at least we’ll know we gave us chance to prevail.”

I wrote this poem in answer to the following prompts:
FOWC with Fandango — Pattern
Word of the Day — Variable
Ragtag Daily Prompt — Invisible

Fighting Fate

Life is what you make it right?
It’s variable and bright
A pattern created by choices
Interrupted by dark voices

Success, they say is up to you
Keep a positive point of view
Anything you want, you achieve
If you simply believe

What of the obstacles of life?
All those failings and strife
Is it coincidence or bad luck?
An invisible fate driving that truck

For me, fate pulls the strings
Stops me, clips my wings
It wants me to fail
Ensures I cannot prevail

If I try, it takes from me
Confidence, friendship, my ability
All vanish into the night
Yet here I stand ready to fight

Nobody can beat the rich mob
They’ll pillage, plunder, and rob
Stop us getting anywhere
Yet still, I will get there

Thanks for reading my friends.
