My Worldly Friends

“This years Holidays will show us all the power of family and friendship as we share our time apart. For me Christmas is not about gifts, good food, and alchohol. Its about being together and celebrating the good times with those you care about. Something thanks to social media and a few great apps we still get to do. Our governments are trying very hard to cancel Christmas. They can be damned my, friends. We shall still do Christmas together and bloody well enjoy it!!

For the longest time I didn’t have friends. Now, I feel I have many. This poem will mean that little bit more to a select couple who I owe my ability to live and write too. I say a big thank you to them and wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy Hanukah!”

My Worldly Friends

For a long time, I was alone
Then social media gave me dedicated friends
I was lucky those seeds were sown
Now, we chat daily even on weekends

Though we live at a great distance
This friendship is strong and caring
Our connection has great subsistence
I just love the times we’re sharing

We’ve been through tough days
You stopped me quitting back there
we support each other in many ways
We’ll succeed together that’s only fair

Through thick and thin
We’re always there for each other
Together we’re going to win
Because we’re friends with one another

I love you my friends from afar
This Christmas I celebrate with a beer
One day we’ll meet in a fancy bar
Until then, my friends, lets raise a belly-cheer!

I wrote this poem in answer to the following prompts:
FOWC with Fandango — Lucky
Your Daily Word Prompt — Dedicated
Ragtag Daily Prompt — Caring
Word of the Day Challenge — Belly-cheer

Thanks for reading my friends. Have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Holidays!
