A Story by the Parts

Begin your story with a captivating hook
ncourage readers into your wonderful book
ive them a glimpse of what’s to come
ntroduce them to a character or some
ow set the mood, make sure not to drone
urture mystery, romance a dark undertone
nvite your reader to wonder or worry
ext, they’ll be turning the pages with a flurry
et the reader to the middle, you’ve written well

ove your story along at a tremendous pace
ntriguing details and a heart-stopping space
escribe the main scenes with every sense
raw your readers right to the last fence
et the ponder how the story will end
ek! The end is near! Around the next bend

nd of the tale, will your character fail or prevail
ow your character has learned or settled a score
id you end with a bang, leave readers wanting more

Thanks for reading my friends. As always there are more stories to be enjoyed (I hope) in the Short Stories and Short Stories 2 tabs. There’s also poetry here in Poetry Corner

Have a great day!

    1. Thank you, I thought ‘Do, I write a story and just say it has a beginning, middle or end – or, do I do something different.’ so I got out my story writing guidelines and the acrostic was the result. Glad you liked it.
