This poem was written for Fandango’s Dog Days of August #12
Today’s Prompt is: Something that brings you joy
Here’s what I came up with:
Oh, Joy!
Joy is the feeling of great pleasure and happiness
So, basically anything the opposite of crappiness
The question is what in life brings you joy
A movie with friends, maybe a new toy
A walk on the beach, a dinner of comfort food
A lottery win, or just having a positive attitude
Joy can be in receiving a bouquet of flowers
Spending time with the one you love for hours
The pleasure of hearing your favourite song
Find something you for lost all along
Maybe your joy is in writing a bestseller
Mine would be finding treasure hidden in a cellar
Wherever you find happiness and joy
Remember to share it and try not to annoy
Help everybody find pleasure and share a smile.
Even their happiness can bring you joy for a while
I hope you enjoyed this little poem from me
Writing it brought joy to me you see
Thanks for reading my friends. As always there are more stories to be enjoyed (I hope) in the Short Stories tab and poetry here in Poetry Corner
Have a great day!
