Incessant Sands

A great poem for my friend and fellow Author Ashlie Harris.

We live in a chronic cocoon,

Existing in a perpetual state of change.

Every breath,

A butterfly effect.

Tides surge in never-ending waves.

Sandy beaches can only take

The bait.

So they lie down and wait.

But where the sand is fake,

Sinkholes

Of regret.

Then, inevitable death.

A butterfly effect.

And the sands break free,

Drifting from the beach,

Down to the muck,

Stuck.

Stable.

Able to collect –

A butterfly effect.
